Boys Tennis Keep Winning

From Coach Paul Ajemian;

Milton was well represented over the past 2 weekends at the MIAA’s Individual Tennis tournament held at Newton North H.S. Singles players: Michael Gates, Gianni Rodrigues, & Nate Dickens, along with the doubles team of: KJ Meade & Jeff Chen participated in this highly regarded and ultra-completive event. Although Mike Gates was the only Wildcat player to advance beyond the 1st round, MHS’ other entries gained valuable experience at the event. Mike, on the other hand, played remarkably well as he advanced to the round of 8 (out of 59) and was one game away from the semifinals when he was hobbled by leg cramps. Following a brief rest, Mike made a gallant effort to finish the match, but his opponent took advantage of Mike’s lack of mobility, and easily comeback to defeat Mike 5-7 in the 3rd set.
The men’s tennis team will now look forward to participating in the MIAA Division II State Tennis Tournament beginning on June 1 after posting an outstanding 12-5 record.
